B. Mus Composition

Katelyn is currently studying a Bachelor of Music the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. She loves singing and playing in all genres, especially musical theatre, contemporary, and classical music.

Katelyn has had extensive experience as a conductor, musical director, producer, and performer, ranging from symphony orchestras, to award-winning musicals, to Spotify tracks. She has led many musical groups and individual students to win the Queensland championship prize in their age and musical division, as well as seeing some outstanding results in AMEB and Trinity examinations. She has released some singles on streaming platforms which are all self-produced and written, leading Katelyn to have a thorough understanding of contemporary music practice.

Katelyn began her teaching journey in 2022 as a middle-school Jazz band conductor, and musical theatre vocal coach. Katelyn has since been able to expend her teaching expertise into other instruments and genres, teaching both the AMEB and Trinity syllabus, facilitating lessons in HSC, and QCE, lessons in theory, and lessons in contemporary music.
