Joy began her musical journey at the age of 10, initially focusing on classical piano and successfully completing her exams with The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). Her passion for music expanded to singing, leading her to participate in performances for young musicians in Indonesia under respected organizations such as NIRAI Musik, Musiklasika Community, and Staccato.

After relocating to Sydney, Australia, Joy pursued formal music education, earning a degree in Contemporary Music with a focus on Musicianship from Hillsong International Leadership College. She also obtained a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and is currently furthering her academic and professional development by studying for a Master of Teaching.

While performing regularly around Sydney and teaching students, Joy has cultivated a deep passion for both piano and vocal performance within the church community. She has broadened her musical repertoire by exploring jazz, pop, and gospel, refining her skills in contemporary music, and mastering complex chords and harmonies. Influenced by renowned artists such as Snarky Puppy, Brian Culbertson, and Stevie Wonder, Joy has enhanced her musicality through advanced Jazz Improvisation courses, including The Young Women Jazz Workshop and the Jazz Ensemble at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music.

As a vocalist, Joy was an active member of the Serafim Choir for several years, competing in various choir competitions and performing across Indonesia and Sydney. In addition to her performance work, Joy is dedicated to composing and songwriting, further solidifying her commitment to music.

With a passion for both performance and education, Joy is committed to inspiring others through her musical journey. She believes in the power of teaching, sharing the joy and excitement that music has brought into her own life.
