Our string lesson programs introduce and offer the elements of posture, technique, theory, aural, as well as sight-reading, all for string instruments (particularly, the violin, viola and the cello).
Students are introduced to the parts of their chosen string, as well as the instruments of the whole modern orchestra. Additionally, this program has been popular with string players who are wanting to learn music for leisure, alongside examination for grading.
The students who undertake our string lesson program are taught to confidently play with a strong sense of intonation and rhythm, combined with strong sight-reading and bowing techniques, through a range of different classical styles as put forward by the AMEB syllabus.
At Archadenia, we provide performance opportunities for students who are undertaking the string tuition program in both solo and ensemble settings.
Our string lesson curriculum equips students with technical knowledge that allows them to demonstrate proficiency in their performance, in addition to a clear theoretical understanding to enhance their musical practice.
We encourage our string players to undertake ensemble and group lessons to further aid their performance progress and increase their experience in accompanying other instruments in a performative setting. Furthermore, students are guided towards learning the style of music that would be best suited to their musical interests, styles and level of technical proficiency. For examination purposes, we will follow the guidelines of the AMEB syllabus as well as Rockschool to master our students in succeeding their exams.
