Kevin is a pianist, composer and arranger whose viva voce in jazz theory was selected for ENCORE, NSW’s HSC showcase for the state’s highest achieving music students. He began learning music and picked up the piano at the age of 5. He completed AMEB Grade 8 Piano with Honours and achieved 100% on all performance and composition assignments in Year 12. Kevin trained with the University of Sydney Conservatorium of Music Jazz Rising Stars program and performed with the Pulse Alive 2024 Showband. He recently returned to his former school to give a specialist workshop in jazz harmony and coached students on applying jazz harmony in their performances.
Kevin performs across pop, jazz and classical styles, with particular interest in arranging popular music through a jazz lens. He continues his passion in music by composing and producing his own music. As a teacher, he is passionate about teaching music to children to unlock musical confidence, improvisation skills and a foundation in harmony and performance both in piano and drums. He believes music speaks louder than words, and that, unlike any other language, can be learnt to communicate with anyone.
