Calista completed her piano practical and theory qualifications with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) in 2009. From the tender year of age six, she embarked on a musical journey that would later become an integral part of her life. Under the guidance of dedicated mentors and hours of disciplined practice, she navigated the intricacies of musical notation and technique, steadily progressing through the graded examinations offered by ABRSM. The journey was not merely an academic pursuit but a harmonious exploration that allowed her to delve into the nuances of expression, creativity, and emotional resonance embedded within each musical piece. She plays and loves teaching classical pieces and pop songs. In more recent years, she has also developed a passion in musical expressions through other instruments like the ukulele and guitar, and she records a lot of covers on a regular basis.

Her career as a teacher started in 2010 where she gained a passion for teaching music to both kids and adults. When it comes to teaching kids, Calista aims for the class to be a musical exploration and adventure, incorporating fun elements into learning, such as composing easy musical pieces through drawing, singing and exploration of other instruments. She believes that learning music should not be confined within a structured classroom setting. It should be fun, creative and enjoyable. On the other hand, when it comes to teaching adults, she focuses more on technical proficiency, but also hopes to impart the experience that the true essence of music lies in the joy it brings – a joy that is deeply embedded in the act of learning, appreciation, creation and expression.
